Business Development Manager

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for driving business growth in the residential smart home technology sector. Your primary focus will be to identify and develop strategic partnerships, generate leads, and close sales opportunities. This role requires a strong understanding of the audio-visual and smart home technology industry, experience with the leading brands, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities in the residential audio-visual sector to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Research and analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitors to identify potential growth areas and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, and other relevant industry professionals to generate referrals and drive business growth.
  • Actively engage in networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences to promote our residential audio-visual solutions and expand the company’s presence in the market.
  • Collaborate with the design and technical teams to develop customised audio-visual solutions that meet clients’ needs and exceed their expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to potential clients, effectively communicating the value and benefits of our services.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and profitable outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions using CRM software.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest audio-visual technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve product knowledge and enhance customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, marketing campaigns, and digital content that support business development efforts.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years experience in the high-end residential audio visual installation industry, or other related industry with an established architectural, interior design, construction/fit-out network.
  • A proven track record, generating at least £2 million of business revenue in the last year.
  • Deep understanding of audio-visual technologies, home automation systems, and integrated solutions for residential settings.
  • Strong network of contacts within the audio-visual industry, including architects, interior designers, builders, and homeowners.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas and solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, negotiate contracts, and close sales.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads and track sales activities.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites, industry events, and trade shows as required.
